What exactly is serenity and its relationship with peace?

Serenity

Between me and you there’s nothing as sweet as having your mind together and your head in a state of peace and serenity. All humans want this moment in their life, we even go as far as buying drugs that promise the feeling of serenity.

Peace and serenity is what everybody craves, it is being preach in your church and every religious place, it is being advertise and talked about but the big question remain, what exactly is peace?

One big step we humans miss in life is wanting something without understanding the things we want. Most times those wants come from FOMO and media manipulation.

They are not really our want so we surface understand them, following the definition the public have of it.

If you don’t understand what you want you will be sold the wrong thing and lied to about it. This is the story of people who trade on gold without having the knowledge of gold.

This also applies to serenity. Without having the full understanding of peace and serenity we have fallen for the wrong definition pushed down our throat by the mainstream media. First let’s see what the definition of both peace and serenity is and their place in our life is

Peace can be said as the freedom from disturbance and tranquility. This means peace in our life is not freedom from problems or avoiding problems.

Serenity is the state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled even in a state of chaos and trouble. serenity means not losing or getting away from your centeredness

People have interpreted peace and serenity as a thing that makes them not take responsibility for the issue at hand, the peace and serenity belief has driven us to a place where we are weak to accept responsibility for few things in our life or fight for something.

We have hidden a life of complacency in love and light and spiritual practice. Telling ourselves peace means not doing or taking any action to develop our life and get the things we want. We have told ourselves peace means giving up material pursuit for a state of rest

Peace and serenity is not the monk in Himalayas mountain faraway from civilization, meditating every hour and minute.

Peace is the man living in the busy city going about his business in a loud environment with all the problem that comes with it but still having the freedom from disturbance and tranquility.

We have been fed not being able to discuss how we feel and relate how we are hurt is maintaining our peace and serenity. Not every situation we find ourselves is toxic and not every misunderstandings strives to take away our peace and state of mind away.

Discussing the issue at hand and addressing every wrong can be a form of peace. Majority of people who say they avoid issues because of their peace of mind actually have those issues eat them up and care more about it. It is common for man to lie himself out of complex issues.

Peace is not running away from the problems that need to be addressed, serenity is not running away from the problems of life. Peace and serenity is being level headed in situations that threatens to take away our mental health and sanity.

It is the person that can hold his head high in the midst of chaos that has peace and not the self-proclaim man of peace that runs to hide his head in time of chaos
